Send a message to the person who requested a photo of the grave monument of Shirley Gladys Stiven with the following comment:
Daughter of Frederick Stannard of Woolney Hall, Shirley was first the wife of Hamed Kholucy Bey (1878-1929), Egyptian diplomat, judge at the International Court, and Governor of the Suez Canal Company, the eldest son of Moustafa Kholucy Bey of Cairo and Istanbul. They had married in 1924. They had two children, Honor Shirley (1925-1989) and Ralph Hamed (1926-1958), before Shirley was widowed in 1929. Her second husband was Harold Hussein Edward Sutherland Stiven M.D. (1884-1956) the eldest son of Edward William Flemyng Stiven (1851-1902) of Harrow-on-the-Hill. From the census records it seems more likely that Shirley was born in 1905 and not as her later family thought.
